TRIP DIARY: 2011 Christmas in eastern Europe

After working 5 months at the airport with Alitalia my contract ended up, which is a good reason for starting travelling again, so one day me and Luca decided to get the cheapest ticket to go somewhere, and the cheapest solution was going to Poland, in Gdansk with Wizzair, only 40 bucks were enough to start our trip.

5.12 - 8.12 GDANSK, we arrived here from Rome with wizz air, spent the first night in the airport and the others in a hostel, then from here we visited the famous teutonic castle of Malbork and the beach town of Sopot.
9.12 - 10.12 WARSAW, by night train, here we found to sleep in a weird anarchist hostel, here we could meet with Marco, arrived to join us a few days from Rome, and we spent couple of days around the town.
11.12 - 13.12 KRAKOW, by night train, here we stayed in another weird hostel, this time a communist one. staying around the town and visiting the Auschwitz concetration camp and the city of Wieliczka with the famous salt mine, then marco went back to Italy after that.
14.12 WROCLAW, by train, we arrived in the middle of the night and we slept at the bus station, we spent a full day around this nice city before taking a bus to Prague from here
14.12 - 17.12 PRAGUE, arrived night time at the bus station, we went to "hostel one" to sleep and we spent the next few days walking around the city
18.12 BRNO, just couple of hours away from Prague, we spent a full day here visiting the city and the castle before taking late afternoon a bus to Wien
18.12 - 21.12 WIEN, arriving here very late at night by bus we found a small hostel little bit far from the city centre, spending a few days around the city, we also have been so lucky to meet here the real Santa Claus and hanging around with him.
22.12 ROME, back home after 16 hours on a battered bus full of weird passengers from Wien to "Autostazione Tiburtina"
